WHO IS KEVIN?

I am a JMU graduate ('98) with a degree in chemistry.

For many years, I used my degree from JMU as a chemist in the mass spec lab at VCU. What does that mean? It means I got to study and analyze a lot of interesting specimens including ancient artifacts, pig teeth, and even Naegleria fowleri, the brain eating amoeba. What else does that mean? It means that I was stuck in a window-less lab where I might see one or two people a day if I was lucky.

In 2015 at the prompting of my father-in-law, I looked into attending classes to become a home inspector. My father-in-law could see that I was unhappy in the lab and, knowing me well, encouraged me to find something I loved. He helped me find a great mentor who let me ride along with him in the evenings while he did home inspections. I then worked on my own on weekends and in the evenings for about 2 years to build my business, and am happy to report that I'm now inspecting full time. I'm licensed, insured, and ready to use my analytical skills to help give you peace of mind when buying or selling a house.

When I'm not inspecting homes, I enjoy being with my family, woodworking, managing the community garden at my church, and being outside.
